Tomorrow is the #Enough! National School Walkout at 10 AM. This morning at school, we had a brief meeting to discuss another matter, and someone asked what our preparations for the walkout should be. We were told that our school would not be observing the walkout, rather we would be asking our students to "walk up" by committing 17 random acts of kindness instead. On the surface, this seems like a reasonable thing to ask of our students. Certainly this world could be made into a better place if we all committed more random acts of kindness. But as I thought more deeply about the origins of each of these two ideas about what tomorrow should hold, I became more convinced that the #17for17 idea is not a good one. Not shore if I can narrow it down to just one book but some of my favoites would be: Frankenstein for its amazing charicter changes and deep insite into people of that time and the insite into humanity in general.The Hobbit because it is the top epic ever and my chidhoud bedtime story(got to love having a nerd dad).The Count of Monte Cristo has one of the deepest storys ever the main charctor is so cool so cool. Enders Game simply because Ender is the most hardcore kickbut kid in the world.And last but not least anything Edger Allan Poe. There are more but that is some that came to mind.
